Tasty Tuesday – Vegan Banana Bread

I’m not a huge chocolate junkie anymore, but there’s one sweet treat I just can’t resist… cake. And I don’t mean the ones that are covered and filled with cream, they are just too heavy and not worth the tremendous amount of calories and fat – at least for me. I’m talking about apple pie, blueberry pie, carrot cake…
But what I really really like right now is banana bread. It is so delicious and the recipe I use is also vegan. So if you avoid any kind of animal products this might me something for you. I’m not vegan but I wanted to know how it tastes and now I will stick to this recipe for sure, since you don’t sacrifice in taste and the ingredients are actually pretty healthy (yeah I know, healthy and cake normally doesn’t quite fit together).
So here it is, the vegan banana bread (BIG plus: the whole apartment smells so good afterwards) :

Ingredients:
* 180 gr whole wheat flour (Vollkornmehl)
* baking powder (about half a package) (1/2 Päckchen Backpulver)
*1/2 tbsp. baking soda (1/2 Teelöffel Natron)
* 1/4 tbsp. sea salt (1/4 Teelöffel Meersalz)
– 80 ml rapeseed oil (Rapsöl)
– 50 gr raw cane sugar (Rohr-Rohzucker)
– 50 gr agave syrup (Agavendicksaft)
– 1 package of vanilla sugar (Vanillezucker)
*1/4 tbsp. powdered vanilla (gemahlene Vanille)
– 100 ml soy milk (Sojamilch)
– 2 medium sized bananas, mashed (mittelgroße Bananen, zerdrückt)
– sugar powder, if needed (Puderzucker, falls nötig)

Preheat the oven 175°C (convection oven). Cover a loaf pan with butter and flour. Now mix the dry ingedrients in one bowl (the ones with the little star *). In a second bowl you mix the moist ingredients (all the other ones, exept the sugar powder).

Next, stir the dry ingredients in the moist ones, but not too long, there shall be some clumps! Put the dough in the loaf pan and keep it in the oven for about 35 minutes.

//Als nächstes hebt ihr die trockenen unter die feuchten Zutaten, aber nicht zu lange, es sollen durchaus Klümpchen da sein! Füllt den Teig in die Form und ab in den Ofen damit für ca. 35 Minuten.

Let the banana bread cool for 20 minutes after baking and then put it out of the pan. If you want, you can dust it with sugar powder and then – ENJOY! (;

//Lasst das Bananenbrot für 20 Minuten auskühlen und nehmt es dann aus der Form. Wenn ihr möchtet, könnt ihr es mit Puderzucker bestreuen und dann – GENIEßT ES! (;

Have a wonderful evening everyone and tell me, if you want more recipes on my blog or not!

//Habt einen wundervollen Abend und sagt mir, ob ihr mehr Rezepte auf meinem blog lesen möchtet oder nicht!

    Glaub mir, es ist göttlich! ;D
    Statt dem Agavendicksaft kannst du auch nochmal 50 gr Zucker verwenden, oder Ahornsirup. Und normales Mehl geht natürlich auch, muss kein Vollkornmehl sein. Vielleicht erleichtert das deine Suche. (;
