Tested/Loving – Givenchy Le Rouge Rose D’Exception

As you may have guessed from the title, today it’s time for a new product review. I’ve never had a beauty product of Givenchy before, so this is a first for me and I was very excited. So no more talking, let’s get right into it and see, if Givenchy did convince me… or not. (;

Wie ihr vielleicht schon anhand des Titels erraten habt, ist es heute mal wieder Zeit für eine neue Produkt Review. Ich hatte bis jetzt noch nie ein Beauty Produkt von Givenchy, also war ich schon sehr gespannt. Also gut, kein langes Gerede mehr, ich leg‘ gleich los und wir schauen einfach mal, ob Givenchy mich überzeugt hat… oder nicht. (;

Givenchy Le Rouge in 206 Rose d’Exception

Seriously, this lipstick looks ah-mazing! Givenchy’s holiday collection 2013 includes four shades, Violine Précieux, Rouge d’Exeption, Rose Précieux and Rose d’Exeption. I bought 206 Rose d’Exception, which is a slightly darker nude shade.
The design of the tube is an instant eye-catcher, the pattern and the mixture of metal and leather elements make it look really expensive and extraordinary. What I like is the fact that the tube doesn’t just look good, it’s also pretty solid and feels kind of soft in your hands.
The color itself is described as an ‚Intense Color‘, a ‚Sensuously Mat Lip Color‘. It dries to a matte finish and is slightly darker than my own lips. Well, let’s say it is darker than the lipsticks I normally use and this is why at first I was a bit scared to wear it. But now as fall has fully arrived this color is perfect! It fits the chilly, dark atmosphere that seems to be everywhere right now and will also look great during winter and especially during the holiday season (omg maybe I should start buying some presents… ahem).
Although it is a matte lipstick, this one is not drying at all. Of course it’s not as moisturizing as a product with a glossy finish, but still I was pleasantly surprised. If I put on lipbalm some time before applying Givenchy’s Le Rouge I don’t have any problems.
Now, on to lasting power. Matte lipsticks are famous for being pretty long lasting and this buddy makes no exeption. Even when it starts to wear off after a couple of hours (about 3 to 4 hours without eating) there’s a subtle stain remaining, which still looks good on its own. On some days I even prefer to wear it that way, since it makes me look somehow, well, healthier and more awake than before.

All in all I can say that first I was a little bit afraid to wear this color (I bought it at the end of August in Spain. Now it’s Mid-November, do I need so say more?) but now it has made its way to one of my favorites. From tube to color to lasting power I would definitely (!!) recommend this product. With around 32€ it is pricey, yeah, but in my opinion it is worth the money if you are looking for something more than a simple nude lipstick. After all, Christmas is around the corner, right? (;

Das Design der Hülle ist ein echter Blickfang, das Muster und die Mischung aus Metal- und Lederelementen lassen alles sehr hochwertig und außergwöhnlich aussehen. Was mir sehr gefällt ist, dass die Hülle nicht nur gut aussieht, sondern auch recht stabil ist und sich in den Händen weich anfühlt.
Die Farbe selbst wird beschrieben als ‚Intense Color‘, ‚Sensuously Mat Lip Color‘. Tatsächlich ist das Finish matt und der Ton ist ein bisschen dunkler, als meine eigene Lippenfarbe. Naja, vielleicht sollte ich eher sagen, dass er dunkler ist, als die Farben, die ich normalerweise auf den Lippen trage und dass ich deswegen anfangs noch gezögert habe, diesen Farbton zu tragen. Aber jetzt da der Herbst vollkommen angekommen ist, passt diese Farbe perfekt! Sie passt zu der frostigen, dunklen Stimmung, die momentan scheinbar überall ist und wird auch im Winter und während den Feiertagen super aussehen (oh je, vielleicht sollte ich mal anfangen, mich um Geschenke zu kümmern… ähem).
Obwohl es ein matter Lippenstift ist, trocknet er die Lippen nicht aus. Natürlich spendet er nicht so viel Feuchtigkeit wie ein Produkt mit glossigem Finish, aber ich war doch positiv überrascht. Solange ich einige Zeit vor dem Auftragen von Givenchy’s Le Rouge ein wenig Lippenpflege benutze, habe ich keine Probleme.
Jetzt zur Haltbarkeit. Matte Lippenstifte sind bekannt dafür, sehr lange auf den Lippen haften zu bleiben und dieses Freundchen hier ist da keine Ausnahme. Selbst wenn er nach ein paar Stunden ein wenig verblasst (nach ca 3-4 Stunden ohne essen), bleibt immer noch ein schöner Stain, der auch alleine gut aussieht. An manchen Tagen trage ich diese Farbe sogar lieber auf diese Art, da mich die Farbe so irgendwie, nun ja, gesünder und frischer aussehen lässt.

Alles in allem kann ich sagen, dass ich mich zunächst noch nicht getraut habe, diese Farbe zu tragen (ich habe den Stift Ende August in Spanien gekauft. Jetzt haben wir Mitte November, ich denke das spricht für sich), aber jetzt gehört sie zu meinen Lieblingen. Von der Hülle, über die Farbe bis hin zur Haltbarkeit kann ich dieses Produkt wirklich (!!) nur empfehlen. Mit ca. 32€ ist es teuer, ja, aber meiner Meinung nach sein Geld wert, wenn man nach etwas Besonderem auf der Suche ist, eben mehr, als einem normalen Nude Lippenstift. Und immerhin steht ja auch Weihnachten vor der Tür. (;
